Role Overview:
As an RBT at NLC, you will provide one-on-one therapy under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You will help children develop communication, social, and adaptive skills while fostering a positive, engaging environment. This role involves implementing behavior intervention plans, collecting data, supporting skill acquisition, and collaborating with supervisors and families to promote client success.

Key Responsibilities (aligned with BACB RBT Task List):

Measurement:
\n
Collect continuous and discontinuous data on client behavior
\n
Record data accurately and maintain organized documentation
\n
Assist in interpreting data to inform interventions
\n
\n
Assessment:
\n
Assist with functional behavior assessments (FBA)
\n
Help identify antecedents, behaviors, and consequences
\n
Monitor and report client progress to supervisors
\n
\n
Skill Acquisition:
\n
Implement individualized skill acquisition plans
\n
Use prompting, reinforcement, and fading strategies effectively
\n
Support development of communication, social, academic, and adaptive skills
\n
\n
Behavior Reduction:
\n
Implement behavior reduction plans as designed by a BCBA
\n
Use positive behavior support strategies to decrease challenging behaviors
\n
Monitor antecedents and consequences to track behavior change
\n
\n
Professional Conduct & Scope of Practice:
\n
\n
Follow ethical guidelines and supervision requirements
\n
Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and team members
\n
Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
\n
\n
Documentation & Reporting:
\n
Complete session notes, progress tracking, and required documentation
\n
Provide clear feedback to supervisors on client performance and challenges
\n
\n
Training & Development:
\n
The 40-hour RBT training provides foundational skills in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). It covers key areas such as measurement and data collection, skill acquisition, behavior reduction, and ethical conduct. The training includes online modules, hands-on practice, and supervised fieldwork. By the end, participants will understand ABA principles, be skilled in data collection and behavior analysis, and be prepared for the RBT certification exam.
