Lead Instruction and Assist Paraeducators with Instruction 

Plan Instruction and Plan Theme Units of Instruction

Work with participants who have special educational needs 

Provided small group and individualized support

Management of the Extra Innings instructional space 

Maintain a positive and organized environment 

Monitor participants, monitor behavior

Prepare teaching materials 

Communication - Provide feedback to admin team 

Communicate with Paraeducators 

Communicate with Fitness Coaches 

Communicate with Service Providers 

Work with Speech and Language Pathologists in supporting participants

Work Occupational Therapists in supporting participants

Work with Physical Therapists in supporting participants 

Work with other service providers supporting the needs of participants (i.e. Assistive Technology, Hearing and Vision, Mobility and Orientation, when necessary.) 

Foster a positive learning environment

Tasks:

Curriculum development and design that meets the needs of the participants who have special and unique needs.
Provide high quality teaching and learning experiences.
Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment and foster student engagement and independence.
Collaboration with Service providers
Collaboration and Guidance of Paraeducators
Collaboration with other educators, administrators, and coaches to support participant success.
Stay current with best practices and instructional strategies.

Training:

One on one mentoring
Team trainings
Training with service providers
Attend Admin meetings and staff meetings
Training on curriculum, training on presentation of lessons, training on instructional strategies
Modeling from mentor on instructional procedures

Learning Outcome:

Design learning experiences for students with special and unique needs within the functional academic domain.

Develop skills related to instructional supports when working with various service providers.

Support students with disabilities by adapting lessons, adapting materials, and utilize any supports to meet their individual needs.

Design learning experiences for students with special and unique needs within the domestic and life skills domain.
