Opportunity Summary
The TA will provide instructional and administrative support to ensure the smooth delivery of PSYC 362, enhance student engagement, and promote academic success. Responsibilities will focus on assisting with lecture materials, facilitating online discussions, and supporting student learning through feedback and guidance.

Tasks/Duties
- Lecture and Course Material Support
• Review existing lecture slides for accuracy, clarity, and visual appeal.
• Assist in updating slides to incorporate new research, relevant examples, or current events in gerontology.
• Ensure all materials align with CSUF accessibility standards (e.g., alt-text for images, readable fonts, high contrast).
• Recommend and help prepare supplementary resources such as short videos, articles, or infographics.
• Organize guest speaker bios or supporting content when applicable.
2. Online Learning Management (Canvas)
• Facilitate and monitor online discussion boards.
• Prompt participation by posing follow-up questions and highlighting key points from student responses.
• Flag any student questions that require the instructor’s direct attention.
• Upload weekly announcements, readings, or assignment reminders as directed.
• Ensure posted materials are correctly formatted and accessible.
3. Student Support
• Provide guidance on APA formatting, research sources, and writing structure.
• Review early drafts of student papers (if approved by the instructor) and provide constructive feedback.
• Attend scheduled office hours or hold separate virtual TA drop-in sessions.
4. Grading Assistance (As assigned by the instructor)
• Grade objective assignments (quizzes, short answer responses) using rubrics provided by the instructor.
• Provide initial feedback on papers or discussion posts, with final review and grading completed by the instructor.
5. Classroom Engagement Support
• Assist with in-class activities (small group discussions, polls, role-play exercises).
• Help manage classroom technology (polls, recording, etc.).
• Tracking attendance or participation was required.
6. Course Communication Support
• Respond to general student questions on Canvas or via email within 48 hours, escalating complex issues to the instructor.
• Help manage reminders about deadlines, campus resources, and upcoming topics.
7. End-of-Semester Wrap-Up
• Help compile course materials and resources for future use.
• Assist with organizing final grades and ensuring records are complete.
• Provide feedback to the instructor on student engagement trends and recommendations for future semesters.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding student grades, assignments, and personal information.
• Communicate proactively with the instructor about progress, challenges, and student needs.
• Meet agreed-upon deadlines for assigned tasks.
