Opportunity Summary 

Working with persons with disabilities to search for and provide resources and supports. Under the supervision of professionals, developing Person-Centered Plans for clients. Learning how to identify public benefit, health, and wellbeing needs.

Tasks:

1) Training in Person-Centered Thinking
2) Training in Person-Centered Planning
3) Develop Person-Centered Plans for 1 or more clients (under supervision on an experienced Independent Facilitator)
4) Training in Resource Searching
5) Training in Public Benefits Options for persons with disabilities
6) Assisting clients with applying for public benefits (under supervision of an Independent Facilitator)

Training:

1) Person-Centered Thinking with a focus on Rogerian (Carl Rogers) Humanism
2) Independent Facilitation overview
3) Person-Centered Plan Development

Learning Outcome:

1) Have a better understanding of service options for persons with disabilities in the areas of mental wellness, housing, public benefits, and community integration.
2) Understand the principles of Person-Centered Thinking and Humanism.
3) Understanding the Person-Centered planning process as a means of helping others create a life goals.
