Opportunity Summary 

The Organizational Development Intern at AC Exchange will support the management team by applying principles of organizational psychology to a dynamic small business environment. The intern will assist in evaluating and improving internal processes related to employee engagement, onboarding, and training. This role involves analyzing current workplace procedures, assessing employee and customer feedback, and contributing to projects that enhance organizational effectiveness and customer satisfaction. This position offers a unique opportunity to see how psychological principles directly impact business operations and personnel development.

Tasks:

Assist in developing and administering an employee satisfaction and engagement survey.
Review and document the current new-hire onboarding and training process, identifying areas for improvement.
Shadow office staff and field technicians to map key business workflows and communication pathways.

Collect and analyze customer feedback from online reviews and post-service communications to identify service strengths and weaknesses.

Help create a standardized new employee welcome packet and training checklist.
Prepare a final summary report of findings and recommendations for the management team.

Training:

The intern will receive an initial orientation covering company history, safety protocols, business objectives, and the specific goals of their internship projects. They will be under the direct supervision of the General Manager. The intern will participate in weekly one-on-one meetings with their supervisor to review progress, discuss challenges, and receive consistent mentorship. Ongoing feedback will be provided on all tasks and projects to ensure learning outcomes are met.

Learning Outcome:

Analyze qualitative data from employee and customer feedback to identify actionable themes for business improvement.
Develop professional onboarding and training materials to streamline the new-hire process.
