Teaching Assistant Dept of Comm-ValenciaAt — Latino Communications Institute
The teaching assistant for the Media and Diversity class provides essential academic and logistical support to enhance student learning and engagement. Their responsibilities include assisting the instructor with grading written assignments, managing attendance, and facilitating classroom discussions and activities that explore the intersections of media, identity, and representation. The TA also helps coordinate course materials, supports in-class screenings or group exercises, and ensures that all students have access to the resources needed for success.
Beyond administrative duties, the TA plays an active role in fostering an inclusive and respectful classroom environment. They serve as a point of contact for students seeking clarification on assignments or course concepts related to race, gender, culture, and media representation. By helping to connect theoretical frameworks with real-world examples, the TA contributes to meaningful dialogue and critical thinking about how media shapes and reflects social identities.
