Human Services - Case ManagementAt — City of Chino
The City of Chino Human Services offers internships for college students pursuing their bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a similar field. The City partners with the HOPE Family Resource Center. This program provides case management services for students in the district and families living in Chino. Interns will have the opportunity to shadow case managers observing day to day responsibilities
Internship Duties
- Case management
- Administrative duties
- Office procedures and protocols
- Intake process for the court mandated programs
- Updating community resources
- Assisting on giveaway events
Requirements
- Fingerprint clearance
- 6-8 volunteer hours a week
- Semester commitment (Fall, Spring, Summer)
- Complete monthly volunteer log

Engage with community, document clients notes, participate in community outreach, assist with giveaways, shadow daily tasks of case manager.
Training:
Weekly job shadowing by a Family Resource case manager as well as one on one with the program lead coordinator. They will also participate in community outreach event.
Learning Outcome:
By the end of the academic internship intern will be able understand and actively participate in the case management intake process. They will be able to write concise and informative notes and understand the importance of collaboration and partnership in a community.
