Graphic Design Intern - Spring 2026At — The Frida Cinema
Job Description
Intern will work directly with our Marketing and Executive Director. Interns will create graphics for our platforms to promote our film programming, fundraising campaigns, and organizational stories. Graphic design work also includes web banners, social media announcements (text graphics), and content which is used both on-screen and across social media to promote our programming and organization. Intern will also get a first-hand, immersive experience in social media marketing for an independent Art House cinema.
Tasks:
Intern's chief role is the creation of social media marketing materials, marketing calendar, and general promotion of the theater as relates to graphic design, and the writing of captions for your images. Our organization has a strong and consistent outreach, ranging from on-screen content to daily social media posts, and it is our mission to keep our content rich, original, eye-catching, and relevant.
* Interest in film and creating alternate movie posters is a plus *
Training:
Interns will work directly under Marketing Director of The Frida Cinema, a non-profit art house cinema. Intern will be given access to The Frida's Slack account, where you can communicate directly with Marketing Director, as well as to your fellow graphic designers in a group chat. Intern will have Director of Manager and/or Executive Director as continued resource to get their questions answered and tasks clarified, and Director of Marketing will consistently provide feedback on work. Intern will also be given a Formal review after first two weeks of work, as well as after completion of Internship; but again, general feedback will be consistent.
Learning Outcomes:
Intern will receive hands-on experience with the ins and outs of a non-profit arts organization, with a focus on social media graphics and marketing of both a non-profit organization and a cinematic venue. This includes creating eye-catching visual content for the purposes of marketing and outreach; working with potential sponsors and/or partners in creating and producing partnered graphics; creative in-house poster and flyer design; and working in a Team-focused environment with like-minded film and arts enthusiasts to create a dynamic, diverse, and memorable experiences for our audience.
