Intern Program SpecialistAt — Variety-the Children's Charity of the DESERT
initial point of contact for family seeking services. Training tasks can include but not limited to: training from Program Specialist, obtain intake information, participate in outreach and resource events, inventory and organization of materials developmental and sensory toys, books, diapers, blankets, food bags, informational/outreach pamphlets/flyers, files, art supplies ect., understand developmental screenings (ASQ screenings), understand results and meet with family to discuss results, understand our relationships with community partners and networking, understand referral process, data entry on data base Apricot, research, call facilities to make connections with different organizations, make copies and assist with any miscellaneous office support and emails.

Tasks:

Training
Staff will have an onboarding 1:1 orientation with Program Manager, discuss handbook, review dress code and professional conduct. Intern will work with Program Specialist and will also have the opportunity to work with program coordinator and case manager. Will go over Variety Slide show to ensure student understands and is knowledgeable of the four programs with offer.

By the end of the academic year, student will be able to create raport with families and the community.
