Opportunity Summary 

Internship Description: 

Do you love listening to music and finding new talent online? Are you the type of person who discovers new artists before they blow up? If so, then the A&R internship at Mezz is the perfect fit for you! Through our internship program, students will gain hands-on experience in curating and managing playlists on several different platforms while listening to and sorting through an abundance of music being produced by budding artists eager to make themselves heard. Interns will work remotely for the duration of the internship with two weekly teleconference meetings as well as daily communication. 

Interns will:

- Manage the official Mezz Entertainment Spotify Playlist, SoundCloud Playlist, and Youtube Playlist

- Update the respective platforms weekly with new content 

- Coordinate submissions from up and coming artists who want to be part of our playlists

- Curate the playlists after working with team members and deciding which tracks to include on respective playlists  

- Watch video submissions for YouTube Playlist  

- Manage growth of playlists 

- Develop and maintain contacts throughout music and entertainment industry 

- Communicate with their team daily

Qualifications and Requirements: 

- Knowledge and experience with social media a must 

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

- Strong research skills 

- Self directed independent workers with unmatched work ethics who enjoy being a part of a team 

- Hold a degree or currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, PR, Communications, music business, or similar field 

- Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher

- Plan to pursue a career in music/entertainment industry or public relations 

Time Commitment and Location: 

This internship program is remote (with optional in-person opportunities) and requires a minimum 15- 20 hour per week commitment. A&R interns will attend two weekly meetings over Zoom. Department meetings are 30-45 minutes and team meetings are an hour to an hour and a half long. 

Tasks:

Videography/Photography
Interns will:
- Attend events to capture video footage and photo
- Edit Photos
- Edit Video footage
- Create promotional material

Graphic Design
Interns will:
- Create flyers
- Build logos
- Design and assist in epk/ press kit production
- Produce assets for social media
- Merchandise design

Website Creation/Development
Interns will:
- Create the design and layout of a website
- Develop new websites
- Update existing websites

Training:

We commence with a comprehensive orientation session, followed by specialized departmental meetings to provide detailed insights into individual roles and responsibilities. Weekly department meetings are conducted to facilitate updates, address questions, and assign tasks for the upcoming week. Daily communication will be maintained through Slack to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration.

Learning outcome:

Content Production: Develop skills in producing high-quality digital media content such as videos and graphics focusing on storytelling, visual aesthetics, and effective messaging tailored to specific platforms and target audiences.

Design Software Proficiency: Master industry-standard graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, developing proficiency in creating and editing digital graphics, illustrations, and layouts for various mediums including print and web.

Creative Conceptualization and Ideation: Hone skills in brainstorming and conceptualizing visual ideas, understanding how to translate client briefs and project requirements into creative and innovative design solutions that effectively communicate messages and evoke desired emotions or responses.

Collaboration and Client Communication: Develop effective communication and collaboration skills by working closely with team members, clients, and stakeholders throughout the design process, including gathering feedback, presenting design concepts, and incorporating revisions to deliver final products that meet client expectations and project objectives.
