Opportunity Summary 

The USLI College Student Program connects students to a variety of opportunities at our company. We employ around 200 college students year-round and approximately 240 during the Summer. Our goal is to provide students with meaningful work experiences that prepare them for their next professional step, as well as the chance to explore a career in the insurance industry.

Our students work on the various different teams throughout our company, doing the same work of our full-time employees on a smaller scale. Many types of positions are available for students of all majors in the following departments: Accounting, Claims, Compliance, Facilities, Design and Social Media, Instant Phone Quote, Information Technology – Infrastructure and Programming, Personal Development, Policy Services, Policy Issuance, Sales and Marketing, Underwriting, and Underwriting Technology. We require our students to be enrolled in at least 6 credits per semester at a 2- or 4-year college/university. You must be available to work at least 12 hours each week and at least 4 hours on any given day that you choose to work. We have no GPA or major requirement, and our pay rate is $18.50 per hour.

Tasks:

College Program members are an integral part of the day-to-day operations of USLI’s submission distribution team and underwriting assistant teams. College Program members are given projects and tasks that directly impact USLI’s growth and turn-around time. This gives our College Help members real world experience of both the insurance industry and the experience of working in a professional environment.

Miscellaneous projects to drive growth

Training:

Students are engaged with layered support. They will have a coach, a leader and be a part of a team. Depending on that team, they will carry out various project individually or with other students in support of the full time community member; This could include data analysis, data entry, industry research, business writing and more.
