Fashion + Beauty PR InternAt — RAGDOLL PR
RAGDOLL PR is in search of a motivated, professional, and trustworthy intern to support with various fashion and beauty PR duties. Those duties can vary depending on what department they are helping out with that day - They include, but are not limited to, press release and pitch creation (imagery, writing, layout, and actually sending), researching new editors, publications, influencers, and celebrities, designing social media content, engaging on brand specific social media platforms, learning about networking and relationship building, and more. For in-person interns, in addition to the above, preparing gifting materials for editors, influencers, celebrities, and stylists, showroom tasks and management (including assisting stylists, organization, and restocking).
The intern will demonstrate achievement of the learning outcomes by writing and creating pitches, building a list of editors/publications to send that pitch to that are aligned with a brands' strategy, and then pitch that out to those editors/publications. They will also design and create social media content for brands' social platforms, research new influencers and celebrities, brainstorm with the team on new strategies for brands (on the media, influencer, and celebrity side of things), monitor for digital/print/influencer/celebrity press, research new trends and utilize that information in pitches and outreach, and so much more.
Training:
To help the student achieve the learning outcomes, I and the team will perform introductory training on their first day to get them acclimated with the company and how we work. We will then have multiple training meetings to show them how and why certain tasks are done, then have them start doing things hands on. We will have them do job shadowing/skills training for certain tasks and always provide examples/samples of how to's. I have them check in with me each morning before working with the team and frequently ask how things are going, what they like/don't like, etc.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the internship, the student will be able to better deicide which area of PR they would like to potentially peruse (by being able to try our various avenues), have the basic knowledge of pitch writing, what editors are looking for, and how to properly pitch editors and publications, have the basic knowledge of influencer marketing and celebrity seeding (and what it all entails), and know how to build and maintain relationships within the industry (which is so crucial).
