Opportunity Summary 

The HR Intern will support the Human Resources department with day to day administrative and operational functions while gaining hands-on experience in human resources processes. Responsibilities will include assisting with employee onboarding, maintaining personnel records, supporting recruitment efforts, and assisting with compliance documentation. The intern will work closely with HR staff to understand best practices, company policies, and employment procedures in a professional office environment.

Tasks:

The HR Intern will perform the following professional and pre professional duties:
• Assist with onboarding new employees, including preparing offer letters, onboarding packets, and orientation materials
• Help maintain and organize employee personnel files and digital records
• Support recruitment efforts by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews
• Help track employee training, certifications, and compliance records
• Assist with internal communications such as employee announcements and HR reminders

Training:

The intern will receive structured training and ongoing mentorship throughout the internship, including:
• An initial orientation covering company policies, workplace expectations, confidentiality requirements, and safety procedures
• Hands on training with HR systems, forms, and internal processes
• Regular weekly check ins with an HR supervisor to review progress, provide feedback, and answer questions
• Ongoing guidance and supervision while completing assigned tasks
• Periodic performance feedback and debriefing to support professional growth and learning outcomes

Learning outcome:

By the end of the internship, the student will be able to:
• Demonstrate an understanding of core human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee record management
• Apply professional communication skills in a workplace setting
• Maintain confidentiality and understand ethical standards in HR
• Use HR-related software and tools for documentation and recordkeeping
• Understand basic employment laws, workplace policies, and compliance requirements
