Behavior TechnicianAt — Accelerated Behavioral Change, Inc
The Behavior Technician provides direct one-to-one behavioral intervention services to clients under the supervision of a qualified clinician. Responsibilities include implementing behavior intervention and skill acquisition programs, collecting and recording data, and supporting client progress in accordance with established treatment plans. The Behavior Technician maintains professional communication, follows ethical and safety standards, and participates in ongoing training and supervision.
Tasks:
Students will implement individualized behavior intervention and skill acquisition programs under the supervision of qualified clinicians, applying evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis techniques during direct service sessions. Students will collect, record, and organize behavioral data using approved data-collection systems and participate in reviewing data to support clinical decision-making.
Students will apply prompting, reinforcement, and behavior management strategies in accordance with written treatment plans and ethical guidelines. They will complete session documentation, progress notes, and related clinical records accurately and in a timely manner.
Students will participate in supervision meetings, receive performance feedback, and demonstrate responsiveness by incorporating feedback into clinical practice. Additional tasks include observing sessions, assisting with program preparation, maintaining client confidentiality, and demonstrating professional conduct within home, school, or community settings.
Training:
Students will receive an initial mandatory orientation covering organizational policies, ethical standards, client confidentiality, safety procedures, and an overview of Applied Behavior Analysis principles. During the placement, students will participate in job shadowing and direct modeling with experienced staff prior to independently implementing intervention programs.
Students will engage in weekly scheduled one-on-one supervision or mentor meetings to review performance, receive feedback, and discuss clinical questions related to assigned tasks. Ongoing skills-based training will be provided, including instruction on data collection methods, prompting and reinforcement strategies, behavior intervention procedures, and documentation requirements.
Training will also include review of work samples, observation feedback, and contextualization of assigned tasks to ensure understanding of how daily responsibilities align with treatment goals. Additional training may include review of training materials, readings, and competency checks to support skill acquisition and professional development.
