Lead TeacherAt — Kelly\u2019s Playhouse
Responsible for providing safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for children ages 6 weeks to 14 years in a licensed in-home childcare setting.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Supervise and care for children throughout the day
- Assist with and serve meals and snacks
- Support and implement a preschool curriculum
- Help with potty training and hygiene routines
- Plan and lead age appropriate activities, games, and learning experiences
- Organize and facilitate arts and crafts
- Assist children with homework when needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers
Tasks:
Student interns will engage in professional responsibilities that support child development, early education, and program operations in a licensed in-home childcare setting. Duties include:
• Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate educational activities, including preschool curriculum and structured play.
• Support child development and behavior guidance practices, including positive discipline , routine building, and potty training assistance.
• Observe and apply child development theories to daily interactions with children ages 6 weeks to 14 years.
• Facilitate arts and crafts, group activities, and learning centers that promote creativity, fine motor skills, and social interaction.
• Assist with homework support and academic routines for school-age children.
• Participate in daily program operations, including supervision, safety monitoring, meal and snack service, and maintaining a developmentally appropriate environment.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, families, and staff regarding children’s progress and daily activities (under supervision).
Training:
• Orientation covering program policies, licensing requirements, child safety procedures, daily routines, and expectations.
• Job shadowing with the lead childcare provider to observe classroom management, age-appropriate instruction, and daily care routines.
• Hands-on training in implementing preschool curriculum, planning activities, arts and crafts, and supporting child development across age groups.
• Weekly one-on-one mentor check-ins to review progress, reflect on experiences, ask questions, and connect daily tasks to learning objectives.
• Guided practice and feedback on child supervision, behavior guidance, potty training support, meal service, and homework assistance.
• Exposure to real-world childcare operations, including communication with families, documentation, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.

1. Apply child development theories to support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of children ages 6 weeks to 14 years. 2. Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities, including preschool curriculum, arts and crafts, and structured play that promote learning and creativity. 3.
