The Public Relations & Advertising Coordinator will be responsible for promoting Nikki’s Kitchen through local marketing, social media, advertising, and community outreach. This role focuses on increasing brand awareness, driving foot traffic, and expanding our catering business through strategic PR and advertising efforts.
Tasks:
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute local advertising and promotional campaigns
Manage and grow Nikki’s Kitchen’s presence on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
Create engaging content including posts, stories, promotions, and announcements
Coordinate public relations efforts, including press releases and local media outreach
Build relationships with local businesses, schools, organizations, and community groups
Promote catering services to offices, events, and local organizations
Plan and promote special events, seasonal menus, and restaurant promotions
Monitor online reviews and assist with brand reputation management
Track and report on campaign performance and customer engagement
Training:
The intern will receive structured, hands-on training in public relations and advertising within a small business and hospitality environment. Training will include:
Orientation to Nikki’s Kitchen’s brand identity, target audience, and marketing goals
Guided instruction in social media strategy, content planning, and brand messaging
Training in local advertising methods, promotions, and community-based marketing
Mentorship in public relations practices, including event promotion and local outreach
Instruction on basic marketing analytics, performance tracking, and reporting
Ongoing feedback and supervision to support professional growth and learning outcomes
Learning Outcome:
Apply principles of public relations, advertising, and integrated marketing communications in a real-world hospitality setting
Analyze and implement local and digital marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and customer engagement
Develop professional skills in content creation, messaging, and audience targeting for social media and promotional campaigns
