Veteran Transfer SpecialistAt — CSUF - Transfer/Adult Reentry Center (TAPP)

The Veteran Transfer Specialist is a comprehensive position that provides prospective and interested military-connected students with individual application/transfer assistance and workshop series to the California State University (CSU) system. The VTS will also participate in on campus resource fairs, virtual events, and customized educational tours at CSUF. The purpose of the position is to provide a resource and information to military-connected students interested in pursuing higher education that want to transfer to the CSU system.

Description Of Tasks- 1 on 1 meetings and group advisement with military-connected students to assist with the CSU transfer process
- Educate military-connected students on the navigation of the CSU Apply application and corresponding deadlines
- Follow up and check in with military-connected students through emails, phone calls, and in-person sessions
- Reach out and engage with military-connected community colleges for potential collaborations
and outreach opportunities to provide resources for prospective military- connected students

Training- Provide the student with educational and background knowledge on CSU transfer process
- Describe case management concepts and approaches when assisting military-connected students
- Provide framework and information on CSU Apply for workshops to military-connected students
- Supply all necessary information for CSU system transfer criteria and application windows

Learning Outcomes- Provide case management style approaches to prospective military-connected students
- Provide CSU transfer assistance to prospective military-connected students
- Facilitate both in-person and online CSU Apply workshops to prospective transferees
- Recite the transfer prerequisite criteria and the application windows for the CSU system
