Patient Care Volunteer/InternAt — ActiveCare

Work closely with Alzheimer and dementia seniors also with Down syndrome patience . Provide care, activities 

Tasks:

 The intern will not be left alone she will be side by side with my activity’s assistant . The intern will help with art craft which ever activities is scheduled for the day we provide activities for the whole day to keep the seniors busy.

Redirect an Alzheimer patient during a crisis. Making sure they are ok by sitting with them and talking with them under staff supervision.

Help support the patient weather its with feeding helping with their day to day activities.

Training:

The intern will spend time on the floor where she will get to know the seniors the supervisor will guide and teach

Orientations begins with a week of videos , it will follow with 4 days of training on the floor.

Learning Outcome:

The student will learn bedside manners, how to redirect patience with Alzheimer , be patient have sympathy , critical thinking. Learn how to speak to dementia residents, How each resident has different needs, How to assist the residents.
