Public Relations InternAt — MWMH
We’re looking for a proactive Public Relations & Social Media Intern to help produce short-form clips, run social media channels, and assist with marketing and PR outreach. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who wants real-world podcast marketing experience and measurable results.
Key responsibilities
- Create and schedule social media content for platforms including Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts (copy + visual/video).
- Edit short-form audio/video clips from episode recordings using tools like Descript, CapCut, Premiere Pro, or similar.
- Produce 2–5 short clips per episode (format and length optimized per platform).
- Maintain an editorial and publishing calendar for episodes, clips, and social posts.
- Monitor daily engagement and community comments; respond or escalate per brand voice guidelines.
- Assist with PR: build and update media lists, draft pitch emails, and help coordinate press outreach for new seasons or special episodes.
- Help assemble episode assets (show notes, episode blurbs, images) and an EPK for press.
- Track performance metrics (followers, engagement rate, clip views, click-throughs) and prepare weekly/monthly reports with insights and recommendations.
- Support ad hoc marketing tasks: cross-promotions, newsletter content, influencer outreach, and paid social ad setup (optional).
- Attend weekly production/marketing meetings and present campaign results when requested.
Tasks:
Edit and produce short-form audio/video clips.
Write platform-specific social copy and captions.
Create and maintain a 4\u2011week content calendar and schedule posts.
Launch and manage a small promo campaign; track performance and budget.
Build media lists, draft personalized pitches, and conduct PR outreach.
Assemble/maintain EPK and episode assets (show notes, images, clips).
Monitor analytics and deliver monthly reports with actionable recommendations.
Manage community engagement and escalate sensitive issues per protocol.
Maintain a learning log, compile a portfolio of work, and present final results.
Training:
Interns receive a structured, hands-on training program starting with a mandatory employer orientation that covers the podcast’s mission, brand voice, safety/ethical guidelines for true\u2011crime content, tools/logins, and workflows. They’ll have weekly one\u2011on\u2011one mentor meetings, regular job\u2011shadowing with the producer/editor, and training on short\u2011form editing, social copywriting, platform analytics, community management, and PR outreach. The program includes provision of work samples and templates, and contextualized task briefings.
