Paid Media InternAt — Power Digital Marketing
The Paid Media Intern will support Power Digital’s paid search and biddable media team by assisting with strategy development, execution, analysis, and reporting across multiple digital advertising platforms. The intern will collaborate cross-functionally with agency teams, contribute ideas during client strategy discussions, and participate in ongoing training and professional development sessions. Core responsibilities include assisting with the setup and optimization of paid media campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, Google Display Network, YouTube, and Performance Max; analyzing campaign performance using Excel; supporting weekly and monthly reporting; and maintaining pacing documents that forecast campaign performance. The intern will also gain hands-on experience with project management tools, strengthening communication, organization, and analytical skills in a professional agency environment.
Task:
The intern will perform professional and pre-professional duties that directly support learning outcomes, including:
- Assisting in the development, execution, and optimization of paid media campaigns across Google Ads, Bing Ads, Google Display Network, YouTube, and Performance Max.
- Populating and maintaining pacing documents using Excel to forecast month-end performance for paid media campaigns on a recurring basis.
- Supporting weekly and monthly reporting by compiling performance data, analyzing trends, and helping summarize results for internal and client-facing materials.
- Analyzing key performance metrics (e.g., CTR, CPA, spend, conversions) to identify insights and optimization opportunities within paid search campaigns.
- Participating in strategy meetings by contributing ideas, observations, and questions related to campaign performance and testing opportunities.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams and utilizing project management software to track tasks, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Attending training sessions and applying learned concepts to real client campaigns and internal projects.
Training;
Students will receive structured and ongoing training designed to support the achievement of learning outcomes, including:
- Initial General Orientation: A mandatory onboarding session introducing Power Digital, agency operations, expectations, tools, and workflows.
- Paid Media & Platform Training: Guided training sessions covering paid search fundamentals, biddable media strategy, and hands-on exposure to platforms such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, and Performance Max.
- Excel & Data Analysis Training: Instruction and applied practice using Excel for pacing documents, forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis, including exposure to advanced formulas and templates.
- Mentorship & One-on-One Meetings: Regularly scheduled check-ins with a direct manager or mentor to review progress, provide feedback, and contextualize assigned tasks.
- Job Shadowing & Observational Learning: Opportunities to observe strategy meetings, campaign planning sessions, and cross-channel discussions to understand real-world application of paid media strategies.
- Work Samples & Guided Practice: Access to historical reports, pacing documents, and campaign examples to support hands-on learning and skill development.
- Ongoing Training Sessions: Participation in internal trainings and cross-channel learning opportunities to broaden understanding of digital marketing and agency operations.
Learning Outcome:
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to:
- Analyze paid media performance data using Excel to identify trends, insights, and optimization opportunities across paid search and biddable media campaigns.
- Demonstrate an understanding of paid search and biddable media strategy, including how campaigns are structured, optimized, and aligned to client goals.
- Assist in the execution and optimization of digital advertising campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads and Bing Ads.
