Human Movement & Wellness InternAt — Osteostrong Riverside

Opportunity Summary

The Intern will gain hands-on field experience in a wellness setting focused on skeletal health, neuromuscular strength, balance, and human movement. The intern will observe and assist with non-impact osteogenic loading sessions, learn proper body positioning and force application, and support client education related to movement mechanics and bone adaptation. The intern will apply foundational kinesiology principles including biomechanics, joint alignment, neuromuscular activation, and force production in a real-world environment.

Interns will engage in professional, supervised duties that apply academic kinesiology principles in a real-world wellness environment. Tasks are designed to ensure achievement of learning outcomes related to biomechanics, human movement, neuromuscular function, and skeletal health.

Primary Duties (Professional / Pre-Professional):

Observe, assist, and progressively participate in non-impact osteogenic loading sessions with clients under supervision

Apply principles of biomechanics, posture, joint alignment, and force production during guided movement and loading activities

Analyze human movement patterns and provide appropriate verbal and tactile cueing under coach supervision

Assist with balance, stability, and neuromuscular coordination coaching

Support basic client assessments, including posture, balance, and movement readiness

Document session observations and client progress in accordance with center protocols

Participate in educational discussions related to bone adaptation, neuromuscular activation, injury prevention, and longevity

Demonstrate professional communication and client-education skills in a wellness setting

Adhere to safety standards, ethical guidelines, and professional conduct expectations

Secondary Duties (Limited Administrative Support):

Assist with session flow, equipment preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe training environment

Observe wellness operations and client service practices

The majority of internship duties involve direct application of kinesiology concepts and professional client interaction, ensuring the experience is sufficiently complex and appropriate for the awarding of academic credit.

Training:

The intern will receive structured, hands-on training under the supervision of certified OsteoStrong coaches. Training includes:

Orientation to OsteoStrong’s methodology, safety protocols, and wellness model

Instruction in non-impact osteogenic loading principles and proper use of proprietary equipment

Training in biomechanics, posture, joint alignment, and force application during sessions

Observation and guided practice of client coaching, movement cueing, and balance support

Education on skeletal adaptation, neuromuscular activation, and bone health fundamentals

Exposure to basic client assessment, session flow, and progress tracking

Ongoing feedback, mentorship, and performance evaluation throughout the internship

This training ensures the intern gains practical experience directly related to kinesiology while maintaining a safe, supervised learning environment.

Learning Outcome:

Apply kinesiology concepts in an applied wellness setting
Develop an understanding of skeletal adaptation and force-based movement
Enhance communication and client-coaching skills
Gain exposure to wellness operations and client interaction
