Our advocacy promotes policies that foster opportunity, inclusion, and upward mobility for all, informed by research and community engagement. To date, HOPE’s innovative programming has served 65,000 participants nationwide while our public education and advocacy efforts have reached millions more. 

 

Job Scope 

HOPE is seeking a Social Media and Marketing Intern to help elevate the HOPE brand while gaining hands-on, real-world marketing experience. This intern will work closely with the Communications team under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Communications and Marketing and will support meaningful projects and daily tasks that use social media platforms to promote, manage, and share HOPE’s story. The ideal candidate has experience growing social media followings for organizations or student led groups through consistently branded high quality content. Proficiency in tools such as Canva, Adobe, WordPress, and email marketing systems is essential. The intern should be thoughtful and intentional when engaging with online communities and building relationships. Applicants must be enrolled in college to be considered. 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop graphics, videos, and captions for HOPE’s social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, TikTok, and YouTube. 

  • Bring creativity and fresh marketing ideas to HOPE’s digital presence while collaborating with a supervisor to brainstorm and support content, campaigns, and outreach efforts. 

  • Create high quality, consistently branded social media content that reflects HOPE’s voice and mission across all platforms. 

  • Use hashtags, comments, replies, stories, and platform specific features to strengthen engagement and grow HOPE’s online presence. 

  • Support the design and development of social media toolkits and templates for staff use. 

Preferred Skills 

  • Experience growing social media accounts for organizations or student led groups. 

  • Proficiency in Canva, WordPress, and email marketing platforms or a strong willingness to learn. 

  • Ability to engage with online communities and build meaningful relationships. 

  • Experience establishing, tracking, and interpreting social media metrics. 

  • Strong collaborator who respects approval processes and works well within a team structure. 

  • Proactive, clear, and professional communicator.

Training:

1. Host a virtual orientation session to provide insight on the history of the organization and goals of the program
2. Access to HOPE original research and exposure to HOPE alumnae network
3. Weekly scheduled one-on-one meetings with the communications team
4. Guide intern through the steps of creating an effective social media campaign

1. Understand the nonprofit sector management and organization goals
2. Recognize the strength of Latinas through cultural appreciation, history and career trajectory of leaders from the HOPE alumnae network
3. Develop engaging social media campaigns that promote organic growth
