The CHNSC Volunteer reports directly to the Civic Engagement Coordinator. The primary goal of the CHNSC Volunteer is to learn how to work independently and collaboratively and develop grassroots organizing and advocacy skills including, but not limited to: voter engagement, asset creation, public speaking, and political and advocacy strategy.

Tasks:

IVE:
Encourage voter participation through voting and engagement with phone banking
Collect pledge cards to secure commitments to voter engagement and educate the community about our mission and work
Shadow team members and learn about the IVE department’s role within grassroots organizations, like CHNSC
Comms:
Create and edit communication materials for newsletters, website, and social media
Track Key Performance Indicators and log media coverage of CHNSC
Research and consolidate legal and community resources
Policy and Research
Conduct research for key policy stakeholders for our policy campaign
Research for ‘Know Your Rights’ to expand existing resources
Compile new and existing resources into categories

Training:

Student will receive onboarding training and orientation. Weekly check in meetings with supervisor, job shadowing, project training on variety of new projects.
