Position Summary

The Human Resources Intern will provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department while gaining hands-on experience across core HR functions. This paid internship is ideal for a student or recent graduate seeking practical exposure to onboarding, recruiting, compliance, training support, and HR operations in a professional office environment.

Key Responsibilities

HR Compliance & OSHA Support

Assist with maintaining required OSHA, labor law, and employment posters at company locations

Support compliance-related documentation and audits as needed

Help organize and track safety and HR compliance records

Onboarding & Employee Support

Assist with new hire onboarding, including preparing onboarding packets and checklists

Support new hire orientations and ensure completion of required documentation

Help maintain employee files in accordance with company policies and confidentiality requirements

Training & Development Support

Assist with coordinating employee training sessions

Maintain training records and track completion of required trainings

Support the preparation and distribution of training materials

Recruiting & Talent Support

Support the recruiting process by posting job openings and reviewing resumes

Assist with interview scheduling and candidate communications

Maintain applicant tracking records and recruiting documentation

Administrative & HR Operations

Provide general administrative support to the HR Department

Assist with data entry, reporting, and HR documentation

Support special HR projects as assigned

Qualifications

Required

Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Preferred

Interest in Human Resources, compliance, and recruiting

Prior administrative or internship experience (a plus, not required)

Familiarity with HRIS or applicant tracking systems (a plus)

Training:

The student will receive a structured onboarding and training experience designed to support learning outcomes and professional development in Human Resources. Training will include:

Initial General Employer Orientation (mandatory) covering company overview, workplace policies, confidentiality expectations, and safety procedures

Overview and contextualization of assigned tasks, including how HR functions support the organization and its employees

Job shadowing with the Human Resources Director and HR team to observe onboarding, recruiting, training, and compliance processes

Weekly scheduled one-on-one mentor meetings to review progress, provide feedback, and discuss learning objectives

Hands-on training in HR administrative tasks such as onboarding support, OSHA poster compliance, recruiting coordination, and training record maintenance

Workshops and skills training related to HR systems, documentation, and professional communication

Provision of work samples and guided practice to reinforce learning

Ongoing feedback and coaching to support skill development and successful completion of assigned responsibilities

This structured training approach ensures the student gains practical, real-world HR experience while receiving consistent supervision and mentorship throughout the placement.
