Opportunity Summary 

This internship provides hands-on experience in restaurant business management, daily operations, and performance analysis within a fast-paced food service environment. Interns support operational execution, analyze key performance metrics, and assist with marketing and customer engagement initiatives. This role is ideal for individuals interested in business operations, leadership development, and understanding how data-driven decisions support growth and guest experience.

Tasks:

Interns will assist management with analyzing operational and financial performance data, including sales trends, labor efficiency, inventory usage, and customer feedback, to support data-driven decision making. Students will participate in daily business operations and management workflows such as scheduling, inventory planning, service optimization, and opening and closing procedures. The internship also includes involvement in marketing and customer engagement initiatives, performance tracking, process documentation, and the preparation of brief analytical summaries or recommendations that demonstrate understanding of how management, operations, metrics, and marketing integrate to drive business performance.

Training:

Students will receive an initial general employer orientation covering workplace expectations, food service operations, safety standards, and company policies. Training will include structured job shadowing across key operational areas such as management, customer service, and inventory control, along with guided exposure to daily business functions. Interns will participate in weekly one-on-one mentor check-ins to review performance, discuss operational metrics, and connect assigned tasks to broader business objectives. Additional training may include basic skills workshops, review of operational documentation and performance reports, hands on work with real operational and marketing tasks, and regular feedback to support skill development and learning outcomes.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to understand and support core restaurant business operations and management functions, analyze key performance metrics such as sales, labor, inventory, and customer feedback to inform decision-making, apply foundational leadership and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment, and evaluate how marketing initiatives and operational systems work together to drive business performance and guest experience.
