Interns would support Tribal Office Coordinator with administrative work, help with organizing exhibits, website development, administrative grant work, creative events. Preparing for Pow Wow event every April.

Tasks:
\n
1. Website development.
2. Exhibit design.
3. Content development (related to exhibits, website, flyers, banners, etc.)
4. Event coordination, support, and execution.
5. Supporting with vendor donations for the Pow Wow (online and phone calls).
6. Support with writing a grant (e.g., tribal learning grant) to increase tribal resources and funding.

Training:
\n
Students will engage in meetings with site supervisor and other tribal office board members to learn about the tribe and current events and tribal advocacy. Students will work one-on-one and in groups with the site supervisor for weekly supervision meetings and engage in other tribal members to evaluate progress and identify new opportunities to support the tribe's growth and outreach.

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to...
1. Develop community with a Southern California Native Tribe and learn about their culture.
2. Develop leadership skills related to event planning, and navigating deadlines, and networking with other individuals.
3. Develop goals with site supervisor and assess their progress toward them throughout the semester.
4. Support and promote tribal recognition.
