Opportunity Summary 

Assist instructional personnel with the development, preparation, and presentation of learning materials and
activities.
\u25cf Reinforce instruction to individual students or small groups as directed by the teacher, ensuring students’
understanding of classroom lessons and activities.
\u25cf Monitor and oversee student behavior in the classroom, playground, lunch areas, and other school settings,
maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
\u25cf Perform clerical duties such as preparing instructional materials, maintaining student records, grading
assignments, and filing documentation.
\u25cf Support teachers in implementing lesson plans, managing classroom schedules, and maintaining a clean and
organized learning environment.
\u25cf Assist students with completing assignments, answering questions, and providing emotional support,
encouragement, and general guidance.
\u25cf Provide additional supervision during snack and meal periods, outdoor activities, and transitions between
classes.
\u25cf Maintain confidentiality of personal information regarding students, families, and staff.
\u25cf Administer and score assessments as assigned and assist with mandated reporting requirements.
\u25cf Operate classroom and office equipment, including computers, printers, and audio-visual devices.
\u25cf Attend meetings, workshops, and in-service training as required.
\u25cf Perform other related duties as assigned.

Tasks:

Assist teachers with lesson preparation, instructional materials, and classroom activities

Provide individual and small-group academic support to reinforce classroom instruction

Support classroom management and supervise students during class, transitions, lunch, and outdoor activities

Assist students with assignments while offering encouragement and emotional support

Perform clerical and organizational tasks, including grading, filing, and maintaining student records

Help implement lesson plans and maintain a safe, organized learning environment

Operate classroom and office technology as needed

Maintain confidentiality and follow school policies, including mandated reporting requirements

Participate in meetings, trainings, and other professional development activities

Training:

There will be an initial orientation, weekly scheduled one-on-one mentor meetings, and job shadowing.

Apply instructional strategies in a real classroom setting by assisting with lesson preparation and reinforcing learning through individual and small-group student support.

Develop effective classroom management and communication skills by supporting student behavior, supervision, and providing academic and emotional guidance in a safe, inclusive environment.

Demonstrate professional and ethical practices in education by maintaining confidentiality, supporting classroom operations, using educational technology, and participating in meetings and trainings.
