About the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation

The mission of the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation, the nonprofit organization of the Rose Bowl Stadium, is to preserve, protect and enhance the Rose Bowl Stadium's future within the Arroyo Seco by providing private funding in support of improvements within the venue and its surrounding areas through educational, community, and capital improvement initiatives.

With a national donor and prospect base, including community partners around the country, the Legacy Foundation has raised over $80 million of private and public support to ensure that America’s Stadium is protected for the next generation.

About the Rose Bowl Stadium

The Rose Bowl Stadium is a National Historic Landmark built in 1922 and known throughout the world with its world-class reputation for hosting the 1932 Olympic Track Cycling event, five NFL Super Bowl Games, the 1984 Olympic Soccer matches, the 1994 Men’s World Cup, the 1999 Women’s World Cup, four BCS National College Football Championship Games, and the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal and Semifinal Game. In 2028, the iconic venue will host the Olympic Games for a third time. The Rose Bowl is also known globally for hosting the annual Rose Bowl Game®, UCLA Football, international and Premier League soccer matches, and the World’s Largest Flea Market.

The Rose Bowl Stadium is one of the world’s greatest concert and festival venues, hosting world-class concerts including Coldplay, Karol G, the Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Jay-Z, and Kenny Chesney. Since 2016, Brookside Golf Course at the Rose Bowl has become a premier music festival venue hosting numerous annual events attracting hundreds of thousands of guests through the years.

 Position Overview

The Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media, Video & Content Creation Intern to assist in telling, amplifying, and creating the stories of the Foundation, the iconic Stadium, educational and community programs, campaigns, and events across all digital platforms. This internship provides the opportunity for intentional hands-on experience in content development, social strategy, and real-time storytelling for an iconic brand in sports and community engagement from the ground up.

This role is ideal for students interested in digital media, video production, storytelling, marketing, graphic design, and/or communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation, editing, and publishing of original content across the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation and Rose Bowl Institute digital platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn, and/or YouTube. Content may include photos, short-form videos, reels, stories, graphics, and written captions.
  • Learn and ideate original content ideas that elevate and expose the positive history of the Rose Bowl Stadium as America’s Stadium (LA in a Minute, as an example).
  • Capture behind-the-scenes, in-event, and day-of content at Rose Bowl Stadium events, community programs, donor activations, and Institute forums, helping tell the story of the Foundation in real time.
  • Consider the potential for the development of a Rose Bowl Legacy podcast, digital app, and an overall Rose Bowl Digital Network
  • Website maintenance, clean up, and general brand positioning within the Foundation’s traditional web presence.
  • Support the development and maintenance of weekly and monthly content calendars, ensuring consistent, timely, and mission-aligned storytelling across all platforms.
  • Edit video and photo content using Adobe Creative Suite or comparable tools, optimizing assets for platform-specific formats, best practices, and audience engagement.
  • Collaborate with staff to brainstorm creative concepts, campaigns, and storytelling ideas that highlight Legacy initiatives, fundraising efforts, historic preservation, and community impact.
  • Assist with writing and editing captions, headlines, and short-form copy that reflect the Foundation’s voice, tone, and brand standards.
  • Monitor social media channels for engagement, comments, and messages, flagging opportunities for interaction, amplification, or response as appropriate.
  • Track and report on basic social media performance metrics (engagement, reach, impressions, video views), helping identify trends, successful content types, and opportunities for growth.
  • Stay current on social media trends, emerging platforms, and best practices within sports, nonprofit, and cultural institutions, and share relevant ideas with the team.
  • Support cross-departmental projects, including marketing, events, development, and community programs, by providing creative assets and digital storytelling support.
  • Assist with additional creative and administrative projects as assigned, contributing to a fast-paced, collaborative nonprofit environment centered around one of the most iconic venues in sports.

Qualifications

  • Current student or recent graduate pursuing Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Journalism, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and content trends.
  • Experience or coursework in video editing and graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite preferred; Canva or similar tools acceptable).
  • Creativity, initiative, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and support onsite events.
  • Portfolio or examples of content creation (video, graphics, social posts) strongly encouraged.

Training:

Initial orientation about the Rose Bowl Operating Company and the Legacy Foundation. Weekly meetings with team leaders. Clear directions and instructions on work to be completed.
