Program and Administrative InternAt — Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach

This position will work closely alongside Club leadership to develop and facilitate a program curriculum within the fields of arts, athletics, and education. The student will work with program staff to oversee the daily operations and curriculum. The intern will also have the opportunity to work alongside Club administration to learn about and support the various facets of nonprofit management. 

Tasks:

- Developing youth centric curriculums within arts, athletics, and education.
- Working alongside youth in one-on-one and group settings.
- Encouraging youth during free-play periods when there is no formal activity.
- Mentoring youth from all ages and social backgrounds.
- Helping administration plan fundraising events.

Training:

This position will include general intern orientation, including an online safety training regarding the identification and reporting of abuse. Along with job shadowing various leadership positions within youth programming, volunteer management, development and some nonprofit marketing.

LEarning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to formulate trauma-informed activities for youth, sharpen their ability to communicate with youth of all ages, and have a comprehensive understanding of nonprofit operations/management.
