Preschool Observation for College Credit
Tasks:
Create lesson plans, practice conflict resolutions skills, be able to create and adapt preschool daily schedules, practice play-based learning in the classroom setting, come up with sensory table ideas, dramatic play area ideas, practice helping children enter/exit play, expand upon the children's play scenarios.
Training:
- General Employer orientation
- Shadowing with current staff
- Weekly mentor meetings
- Staff development trainings
Learning Outcomes:
- Build classroom management skills by observing preschool teachers in the classroom.
- Increase teaching skills including curriculum and lesson planning, conflict resolution skills, and preschool daily schedules
- Understand the importance of play-based learning in the early childhood setting
- Develop and implement sensory table ideas, dramatic play area ideas, how to set up a classroom and expand upon the children's play scenarios.
- Be familiar with Title 22 regulations and best practices in an early childcare setting
