Digital Marketing InternAt — AllieKits Network, Inc.
The Digital Marketing Intern will support the development and execution of digital marketing and content strategies for AllieKits Network's ASCEND program, a creative workforce initiative focused on preparing young women for careers in digital media and creative industries.
This internship provides hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, branding, and digital outreach within a nonprofit visibility, community engagement, and out efforts.
Under the guidance of the Creative Director, the intern will collaborate with team members to plan and produce content, assist in campaign execution, and gain exposure to digital marketing tools and workflows.
This position is designed as a structured learning experience that combines practical skill development with mentorship, allowing the intern to build a portfolio and gain insight into marketing within a mission-driven organization.
Tasks:
The intern will demonstrate their learning outcomes by:
Assisting in the development and scheduling of social media content across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
Supporting content creation including graphics, captions, short-form video, and campaign concepts
Participating in the planning and execution of digital outreach campaigns for ASCEND program initiatives
Conducting basic research on social media trends, audience engagement strategies, and comparable organizations
Tracking and summarizing engagement metrics to support marketing decisions
Collaborating with team members on branding, messaging, and program visibility efforts
Training:
To help the intern achieve the proposed learning outcomes, we will provide:
Initial onboarding and orientation covering organizational overview, program goals, and digital platforms used
Weekly supervision meeting (1:1) to review progress, provide feedback, and support skill development
Ongoing mentorship and collaboration with the Creative Director and program team
Project-based guidance with real-time feedback on assignments and deliverables
Access to tools and resources used in digital marketing, including content planning systems and design platforms
Learning Outcome:
By the end of this internship, the student will be able to:
Develop and implement digital marketing strategies aligned with program goals, including social media campaigns, content planning, and audience engagement.
Create and manage branded content across digital platforms, applying principles of storytelling, visual communication, and brand consistency
Analyze basic marketing performance metrics (e.g., engagement, reach, impressions) to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Collaborate within a team environment to support outreach efforts, campaign execution, and program visibility for a nonprofit initiative
