OC Tax Internship - Summer 2026At — HCVT HOLTHOUSE CARLIN & VAN TRIGT LLP
As an intern in our Tax service line you will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts and its related income tax work papers
- Complete a variety of projects within engagement timeline and budget guidelines
- Learn and effectively utilize firm tax preparation software to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance the quality of service to clients
- Perform self-review of work
- Perform tax technical research assigned by supervisors
- Develop strong relationships with firm professionals
- Participate in firm training and activities
- Work with your buddy and performance manager on professional development of both technical and soft skills.
Tasks:

Training:
Student will begin with onboarding and foundational training on firm systems, tax software, and engagement workflows to understand expectations and core processes. They will work with their assigned buddy and performance manager to ensure work is assigned and accurate. As the internship progresses, the student will apply technical knowledge by preparing portions of tax returns and supporting workpapers while managing assigned tasks within timelines and performing self-review. The student will also utilize research tools to complete basic tax research and incorporate feedback from supervisors to improve accuracy and efficiency. Throughout the program, the student will collaborate with team members, build professional relationships, and actively participate in training and development opportunities to strengthen both technical and soft skills.
