Freight Brokerage InternshipAt — RDS Logistics
Abdallah will be joining our Account Management team where he will be working with team members on accounts like Hope Depot, James Hardie, and United Forest Products. In his role, he will help secure pickup and delivery appointments for full and partial shipments. He'll also help track shipments to make sure they pick up and deliver on time. More importantly, he'll help identify shipments that are going to be late and thus proactively communicate internally and externally, so all parties are aware of the state of the load. Other functions will involve making sure loads are built accurately in our TMS (Transportation Management System) so information is transmitted accurately with customers via EDI and API connectivity. In summation, we place our interns into positions that are instrumental to the execution of moving our customer's freight. This allows them to learn how we execute our business firsthand, and it also allows us to evaluate the intern's ability to perform. Ideally, our goal is to hire an intern upon completion of the internship.
