Internship Opportunity: Illustration & Graphic Design Intern (UNPAID)

Are you a creative student looking to build your portfolio and gain real-world design experience? Kona Loa Coffee is seeking a Graphic Design & Illustration Intern to help bring our brand to life through digital and print media.

DISCLAIMER: This internship is only for students planning to take the 495: Internship for Art Class.

What You’ll Do

  • Create original illustrations and graphic design/commercial artwork for our brand
  • Design digital assets for our social media pages and website
  • Develop advertisements & posters for in-store displays
  • Assist with social media visuals to engage our community

What You’ll Learn

  • How to design for real-world marketing & branding
  • Best practices for creating social media graphics
  • Preparing files for print and digital platforms
  • How to receive and apply professional critique & feedback
  • Time management and workflow for creative projects

Location

  • Hybrid work available (Remotely when working on assignments)
  • Occasional in-person meetings & critique days at Kona Loa Coffee – Crown Valley

 Commitment

Tasks:

Create original illustrations and graphic design/commercial artwork for our brand
Design digital assets for our social media pages and website
Develop advertisements & posters for in-store displays
Assist with social media visuals to engage our community
Learn how to create artwork for print and different print finishes
Weekly/Bi-weekly online meetings for feedback and task updates
Monthly in-person meetings for task assignments and adjustments for end of campaign.

Training:

- General Employer Orientation and pipeline introduction
- Weekly scheduled one-on-one mentor meetings for critques, updates, or job assignments
- Monthly in-person feedback
- Working with Print studios to create finishes on prints
- overview/contextuaalization of assigned tasks
