Opportunity Summary 

This internship is designed for students completing a required 120-hour field experience in communications, public relations, media, or community outreach. The intern will support the church’s social media presence, event promotion, and community engagement efforts while

gaining professional experience.

Tasks:

Job Shadowing
Create weekly social media posts for church services and ministry events
• Design flyers, Instagram stories, and event graphics
• Write captions, announcements, and short PR-style messages
• Take photos and videos during Sunday services and church events
• Help manage social media engagement (comments, DMs, messages)
• Promote volunteer drives, food donations, and outreach programs
• Coordinate communication with local schools, shelters, and community organizations
• Assist in planning church community events and family programs
• Prepare weekly communication reports and engagement summaries

Training:

Intro to the church’s mission, values, rules, and work expectations
• Weekly meetings with a supervisor for help, feedback, and guidance
• Training on social media, church emails, website updates, and announcements
• Learning by watching church events, outreach programs, and ministry meetings
• Practice making flyers, bulletins, and event posts for church activities
• Training on writing professional emails and talking with schools, shelters, and community groups
• Helping plan church events, family programs, and volunteer activities
• Writing weekly reports and short summaries about events and communication work
• Learning how to build good relationships between the church and the community
• Improving teamwork, time management, leadership, and professional work skills
