Training:

Meet with interns and figuring out what our workflow. Ideally, I’d have the student on the back end of my podcast recording so they can see how a podcast interview is conducted. I’d share with them the list of questions that I have beforehand so they can see how I go through the interview. During the interview, I’d like for the student to take down notes of which parts they think would make for the best content to promote the episode, and then we can discuss their thoughts. I’d then upload the interview to  Dropbox and they would edit a few clips, create Instagram captions, and provide me with any additional posting information. I would then approve it and have them post on our account or I would post it. This would be done on a weekly basis. I would also have them work on a marketing strategy that we would collaborate on and work with them to execute it. In addition, if they had more time I could have them search for podcast guests and I can show them how I produce, edit, and schedule each episode.

Learning Outcome:

• Hands-on experience working on a growing podcast brand
• Experience developing real marketing strategies and campaigns
• Opportunity to build a portfolio of social media and marketing work
• Insight into the podcast production and promotion process
