Hand Therapy Aide InternAt — California Rehabilitation and Sports Therapy/California Hand Therapy - Anaheim Hills, CA

Assist the hand therapy department with treatment of outpatient UE occupational therapy.

Tasks:

Apply heat, paraffin wax, and cold packs on patients, maintain the clinic clean and organized, and assist patients during exercise.

1. Apply heat/ paraffin/cold packs
2. Assist with general cleaning
3. Supervise and help patients during exercise
4. Keep paperwork organized 

5. Bring patients in on time for their appointment

Training:

Mentor agrees to monitor my performance and to provide
direct supervision and check-ins for a minimum of one hour for two days per week.

Learning Outcome:

1. Know how to explain the exercise to patients.
2. Learn about various modalities.
3. Observed treatment sessions.
4. Know the proper equipment to use for exercise.
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to explain in depth the exercise to patients, know about various modalities and their purpose and the proper equipment to use for certain injuries.
