Non-profit Operations & Executive Support InternAt — AUsome Sauce

Opportunity Summary 

The Nonprofit Operations & Executive Support Intern will work directly with the Founder of AUsome Sauce to support the organization's daily operations, programs, events, fundraising initiatives, and community outreach efforts. This internship provides hands-on experience in nonprofit management and offers exposure to multiple aspects of running a mission driven organization that serves neurodiverse individuals and their families.

The intern will gain practical experience in nonprofit administration, event planning, fundraising, volunteer coordination, community engagement, and executive support while contributing to the organization's mission of creating inclusive and sensory friendly, safe opportunities for the community.

Tasks:

Executive Support
- Assist the Founder with administrative and organizational projects.
- Support scheduling, meeting preparation, and follow-up activities.
- Help prepare presentations, reports, and organizational documents.
- Conduct research on community resources, partnerships, grants, and sponsorship opportunities.

Nonprofit Operations
- Assist with maintaining organizational records and databases.
- Support volunteer coordination and communication.
- Help track program participation and organizational outcomes.
- Assist with general administrative duties as needed.

Events & Programs
- Support planning and execution of community, fundraising, and sensory-friendly events.
- Assist with event registration, participant communication, and logistics.
- Help coordinate volunteers, vendors, and community partners.
- Participate in event setup, operation, and post-event evaluations.

Fundraising & Community Outreach
- Research potential sponsors, donors, and community partners.
- Assist with sponsorship outreach and donor communications.
- Support fundraising campaigns and community engagement initiatives.
- Help create promotional and outreach materials.

Training:

Orientation & Organizational Training
- Initial orientation to AUsome Sauce's mission, programs, policies, and organizational structure.
- Overview of nonprofit operations, governance, fundraising, and community impact.
- Introduction to neurodiversity, sensory inclusion, and best practices for serving individuals with diverse needs.

Executive Mentorship
- Weekly scheduled one-on-one meetings with the Founder and Executive Board of Directors..
- Coaching on nonprofit leadership, strategic planning, community partnerships, and organizational development.
- Guidance on professional communication, problem-solving, and project management.

Skills Development
- Training on nonprofit administrative systems and record keeping.
- Exposure to event planning and logistics processes.
- Training on donor stewardship, sponsorship outreach, and fundraising activities.
- Review of organizational documents, marketing materials, and program resources.
- Hands-on learning through participation in meetings, projects, and community events.

Learning outcome:

- Apply nonprofit management principles in a real-world organizational setting.
- Demonstrate professional communication and relationship building skills with community stakeholders.
- Develop project management and organizational skills through support of multiple nonprofit initiatives.
