Opportunity Summary 

Responsibilities include maintaining physical therapy clinic organization and cleanliness. Intern to gain professional experience by shadowing physical therapists and asking relevant questions. Completing assignments for school and ones designated by the clinic director including anatomy review, goinometer measures, and goal review. 

Tasks:

Intern will be shadowing multiple physical therapists to learn different treating styles and interactions with patients. Intern will also be learning the job duties of support staff including physical therapy aides and the receptionist to know full operations of how a physical therapy clinic runs. Clinic Director will review some managerial tasks and responsibilities.
Intern will also review anatomy as it relates to certain exercises that are prescribed to patients and the purpose of certain aspects of treatment.

Training:

Intern will be trained directly by the Clinic Director as it pertains to patient/staff safety, orientation with layout of the clinic, and expectations of job duties. Mentor Meetings will be conducted as needed with interaction with multiple physical therapists throughout the week. Intern will shadow physical therapist in their job duties.

Learning Outcome:

Intern will learn what the job duties of a physical therapist, physical therapist aide, and receptionist are with their roles in the clinic. Intern will learn different exercises used in the clinic as it related to patient pathology and anatomical regions. Intern will be able to review some documents in order to see how medical records are written and the effectiveness of initial visits vs. last visit.
