What You’ll Do

• Provide direct ABA services to students in school and home settings
• Implement evidence-based interventions using positive reinforcement
• Support development of communication, social, and adaptive skills
• Collect and track student progress data
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development
• Collaborate closely with BCBAs and Field Trainers for coaching and support

Interns will participate in a comprehensive onboarding and training program designed to prepare them for providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services in school and home settings. Training begins with orientation to company policies, procedures, and professional expectations through review of administrative and clinical handbooks. Interns will complete workshops on mandated reporting, behavior intervention in school settings, workplace harassment prevention, and workplace violence prevention. Additional training includes 40 hours of online coursework covering foundational ABA principles and practices, as well as 7 hours of crisis intervention training. Following completion of initial training requirements, interns will receive hands-on field experience through one-to-one mentorship and coaching with an experienced trainer while supporting an assigned student. Ongoing supervision, feedback, and professional development opportunities are provided throughout the internship experience.

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to...
1. Apply foundational principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) by implementing behavior intervention strategies and skill acquisition programs under supervision in school and home-based settings.
2. Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior by adhering to organizational policies, maintaining confidentiality, communicating effectively with team members, and interacting respectfully with students and families.
3. Collect, record, and summarize behavioral and skill acquisition data with accuracy and consistency to support data-based decision making and treatment planning.
4. Implement evidence-based teaching and behavior support strategies to promote student development in communication, social interaction, adaptive functioning, and behavioral self-regulation.
5. Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team by participating in supervision, training activities, and team meetings, incorporating feedback from BCBAs and other professionals to improve service delivery.

Intern will be working with students who can demonstrate behavior challenges such as hitting, kicking, biting, scratching, etc. Intern will also be working on public school campuses.
1. Secure public school campuses (e.g. security guards, security cameras, on-site support)
2&3 Intern will be training in crisis intervention strategies and in Workplace Violence and Active Shooter Training for schools. and be supported by teacher, other aide and other emergency personnel designated on campus.
4. Follow safety protocol by school and by BCBA (e.g. behavior support plans and emergency behavior plans)
