Opportunity Summary 

Intern will be required to help assist with in classroom instruction as well as classroom management and outside classroom operations. Intern will also be asked to help work with students in areas they may struggle in such as reading or math. Intern will also be asked to help manage parent volunteers to give them tasks to work on throughout the day. 

The student will have the opportunity to take over classroom instruction in order to work on classroom management and understand how a classroom should be ran. The student will also be asked to manage students during recess to ensure student safety. The student will also be asked to shadow parent interactions to learn appropriate ways to address the parent about any possible issues their child may have or things the child has improved on.

Training:

To help the student achieve the learning outcomes, I will provide a walk through of what is to be expected of the student on how to assist the teacher during instruction. The student will also shadow the administrative assistant to learn how to manage parent volunteers and assist day to day operations.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to direct interactions with student inside the educational environment to assist with instruction, run individual centers where students work on academic assignments, help assist with parent interaction and understand the expectations of parents and students in the school environment, understand how to use hands-on and instructional strategies to help provide the best possible outcome for student understanding.
