Minho Jeon will assist with clinic and patient-care support under the supervision and direction of licensed physical therapists, including preparing treatment areas and equipment, assisting with patient flow, observing physical therapy procedures, maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment, and performing administrative support tasks as assigned and within the permitted scope of the position.

Tasks:

The student will assist with clinic and patient-care support under the supervision and direction of licensed physical therapists. Duties will include preparing treatment areas and equipment, assisting with patient flow, observing physical therapy procedures and therapeutic exercises, maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment, assisting with basic clinic organization, and performing administrative support tasks as assigned. Training

The student will receive direct supervision and training from licensed physical therapists. Training will include an initial orientation to clinic policies, patient privacy and safety procedures, proper preparation and cleaning of treatment areas and equipment, patient flow procedures, observation of physical therapy treatments and exercises, and appropriate professional communication with patients and staff. The supervisor will provide ongoing guidance and feedback throughout the internship.

Learning Outcome

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to demonstrate an understanding of daily operations in an outpatient physical therapy setting, apply kinesiology concepts to observed rehabilitation exercises, communicate professionally with patients and healthcare staff, demonstrate proper preparation and organization of treatment areas and equipment, and develop a better understanding of the role of physical therapists in patient care and rehabilitation.
