Organizing FellowAt — Marni von Wilpert for Congress
Marni von Wilpert is an Obama workers' rights attorney, former prosecutor, and San Diego Councilwoman, and now - the Democratic candidate for a must-win seat for Democrats to take back the House. After Prop 50 passed, CA-48, which spans both San Diego and Riverside Counties, became the most competitive race in the country, presenting a unique opportunity to flip a historically red district blue.
As an Organizing Fellow, you will:
- Work closely with campaign staff on core campaign priorities
- Support grassroots organizing efforts that help mobilize voters
- Play a direct role in expanding our outreach and strengthening our field operation
- Gain practical experience in the day-to-day strategy and execution of a competitive congressional race
- Receive hands-on training in campaign strategy and operations, and gain access to leadership and professional development opportunities
- Inform the campaign’s strategy and direction through their unique perspective
Commitment: Expectation of a minimum 10-12 hours per week
Who should apply: Students and early career professionals ready to take action and gain real campaign experience. Remote/Hybrid and In Person Options Available
Support the campaign’s grassroots organizing program through voter outreach, volunteer engagement, and community-based organizing. Conduct voter contact through phone banking, texting, canvassing, and other outreach efforts to connect with voters across the district.Work collaboratively with campaign staff and fellow organizers to meet field and voter-contact goals.
Training:
No experience required, all organizing fellows will receive training on phone banking, voter outreach, and volunteer facilitation.
