Mental Health Advocacy and Support Program InternAt — Nested Integral Coaching Constellation

All interns participate in 1 cohort of the REPAIR Program + 1 team project. In the REPAIR program, facilitators engage with interns and participants in psychoeducation and skills-based group practice sessions to learn coping tools that support recovery from the impact of trauma.

In the team project interns apply for one of the following teams: community healthcare worker, or community outreach. Once placed into their role they will assist their team in supporting a nonprofit that provides trauma-informed coaching and programs to people impacted by interpersonal trauma. Our internship programs are cohort-based, and you will participate on a small team of interns with 1-3 supervisors per team. 

1. Develop skills in communication, group facilitation, resource navigation, leadership, and community engagement while gaining hands-on experience supporting the well-being of others.
2. Create visual and written materials to represent the REPAIR program in one of several formats for community outreach (social media posts, podcasts, videos, slideshow presentations, etc).
3. Develop referral partner relationships with local communities on and off campus.
4. Strengthen skills in collaboration, content development, audio production, and public communication while contributing to meaningful educational content. 

Training:

1. Training on community engagement strategies and advocacy efforts to promote mental health awareness.
2. Incorporate self-reflection exercises where interns can assess their own understanding and application of psychological terminology.
3. Feedback on intern’s writing, designing, and outreach.
4. Training on basic research methods and data collection techniques to contribute to growth within the organization.

Weekly Zoom team meetings 

Learning Outcomes:

1. Gain insight into how outreach can be integrated and applied into mental health interventions and therapeutic practices
2. Become familiar with practices and psychological processes in mental health and peer support settings.
3. Develop cultural competence and sensitivity when working with participants worldwide.
4. Participate in effective teamwork and collaboration skills by working with the team and coaches within the nonprofit organization.

3. You will be invited to a first interview for acceptance into the REPAIR Internship Program.
4. After acceptance into the internship, you will be invited to a second interview for team placement with your direct supervisor for the team of your choice.
