Clinic InternAt — Qazizada Multicultural Therapy Clinic

We are seeking motivated interns who are looking to expand their knowledge, gain hands-on experience, and develop professional skills in a supportive clinical and community-based environment.

We welcome students who are interested in gaining practical experience within our organization/clinic, as well as opportunities to engage with the broader community. Our internship program provides exposure to micro, mezzo, and macro levels of practice, allowing interns to explore different aspects of the field and apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings.

Interns may have the opportunity to:

• Provide case management services
• Conduct one-on-one assessments
• Facilitate educational and community workshops
• Assist with administrative and organizational tasks
• Participate in community outreach and engagement
• Support programs and activities within the clinic
• Develop and implement community-based activities
• Gain experience working with individuals, groups, and community organizations
• Review Budget sheet

We also facilitate outdoor community activities and outreach opportunities, including workshops and informational tables at schools, parks, city events, and other community locations.

Interns receive content-specific supervision, guidance, and delegated daily tasks designed to support their professional development and learning objectives. Our goal is to provide meaningful experiences that help students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and gain a deeper understanding of their future profession.

Students will perform professional and pre-professional duties that provide meaningful opportunities to apply academic knowledge, develop workplace competencies, and demonstrate achievement of their internship learning outcomes. Duties may include:

1) Conduct supervised one-on-one client assessments and interviews.
2) Assist with case management activities, including identifying client needs, connecting clients with community resources, making referrals, and conducting appropriate follow-up.
3) Develop and maintain professional case notes, documentation, and other records in accordance with organizational policies and confidentiality requirements.
4) Research community resources, social services, educational programs, and other supportive services to assist with client and community needs.
5) Participate in interdisciplinary and staff meetings to discuss cases, programs, community needs, and service delivery.
6) Assist with developing individualized service plans and identifying appropriate goals, resources, and interventions under supervision.
7) Facilitate or co-facilitate educational workshops, presentations, and group activities for clients and community members.
8) Collect, organize, and review program or outreach data to support evaluation and program improvement.
9) Research professional literature and evidence-informed practices relevant to assigned populations, services, and programs.
10) Observe and shadow experienced professionals and apply learned techniques to supervised client and community interactions.
11) Assist with administrative and organizational responsibilities directly related to client services, programs, and community outreach.

Training:

Students will receive a structured orientation and ongoing training designed to support their academic, professional, and practical development throughout the internship. We will have weekly 1-on-1 meetings, group meetings, job shadowing and constants training.

Learning Outcomes:

1) Apply professional knowledge and skills learned in their academic program to real-world clinical and community-based settings.

2) Demonstrate an understanding of micro, mezzo, and macro levels of practice through direct work with individuals, groups, organizations, and communities.

3) Conduct one-on-one assessments while demonstrating appropriate communication, active listening, documentation, and professional boundaries.

4) Provide case management support by identifying client needs, connecting individuals with appropriate resources, making referrals, and following up on services.
