Physical Therapy AideAt — Tustin Physical Therapy Specialists

Assist the licensed provider with patient care and related activities following
formal on the job training and competency testing.
• Assist the Physical/Occupational Therapist and/or Physical Therapist Assistant
with patient data intake and support documentation as permitted by state statues.
• Assist with and carry out routine cleaning and maintenance of the clinic, patient
care equipment and supplies in accordance with regulatory standards and
policies and procedures.
• Exercise Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA)
• Comply with the Facility’s Comprehensive Compliance Plan (CCP) which includes
but is not limited to: Business & Clinical Operations, Environmental Health & Safety,
HIPAA, and Code of Conduct as well as all facility policies and procedures and
educational requirements.
• Comply with all local, state and federal regulations, training and instruction
requirements as well as any other standards that govern healthcare services.
• Carry out duties as designated by the Clinic Director
• Assist with front office functions, collecting co-pays, answering phones, and
scheduling patients.
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)

Tasks:

1. Interact with various pts and provide proper exercises under supervision of Physical Therapist
2. Create a safe and clean environment for patients
3. Customer/client service utilizing telecommunication and in person

Training:

1. HIPAA/blood borne pathogen training upon initial hire
2. Anatomy review and planes of motion during initial stages with weekly check off/practical
3.Daily opportunity to interview/consult with Physical Therapist regarding specific patient care

Learning Outcome:

1. Utilize their communication skills to interact with patients and optimize their recovery
2. Understand medical terminology both written and verbal
3. Utilize the understanding of human biology and kinesiology and how it relates to recovery in a Physical Therapy setting
