Opportunity Summary 

Intern to work independently to create effective plans and projects that promote the mission and objectives of Kid Healthy programs. Will report to Executive Director in planning, implementation and follow-up of results.

Tasks:

Project tasks will be based on ability of the intern to ideally include:
-drafting a PR/marketing plan for programs to include media releases, social media campaign and broadcast pitches
-write, edit, and distribution of press releases; social media posts; newsletter content
-take photos and short videos of program participants for PR use
-obtain media releases (permission slips) from participants
-update of current media contact lists
-create outcomes report of all tasks

Training:

The student will learn:
1. Program goals and business plans for Kid Healthy
2. Effective project based planning techniques
3. Content creation and management
4. Effective tools for working with clients and non profit collaborators
5. Event PR and management, including planning strategies, implementation and follow through
6. Outcomes tracking and reporting
Will report to Program Manager and Executive Director in planning, implementation and follow-up of results.

Learning outcome:

Upon completion of a Kid Healthy internship the student will be able to:
1. Plan and execute an effective project based PR campaign
2. Utilize effective written and verbal communication tools
3. Write and implement an effective social media campaign
4. Write and distribute a project outcomes report
5. Understand copy write laws and process
