Restaurant Management & Marketing InternAt — Lucky Chopsticks LLC
Lucky Chopsticks is seeking a paid Restaurant Management and Marketing Intern to work directly with the owner. The intern will receive hands-on training in restaurant management, employee coordination, scheduling, customer service, inventory control, sales analysis, and daily business operations.
The intern will also help develop marketing strategies, create promotions and social media content, analyze customer feedback, and recommend ways to attract new customers and increase sales. The owner will provide direct supervision, training, regular feedback, and weekly mentorship throughout the internship.
• Assist the owner with employee scheduling, workflow coordination, and operational planning.
• Help develop employee training materials, checklists, and workplace procedures.
• Observe staff performance and provide improvement recommendations to the owner.
• Analyze sales, inventory usage, labor needs, and customer feedback.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer service.
• Research competitors, customer preferences, and restaurant industry trends.
• Develop promotional campaigns and customer-retention strategies.
• Create social media content and marketing materials for the owner’s approval.
• Measure marketing performance using sales results, customer engagement, promotional redemptions, and feedback.
• Attend weekly meetings with the owner and present recommendations for business growth.
The intern will receive an initial general employer orientation covering Lucky Chopsticks’ operations, workplace policies, safety and emergency procedures, employee responsibilities, customer-service standards, and marketing objectives.
The intern will participate in job shadowing with the owner and receive step-by-step training in employee coordination, scheduling, inventory review, sales analysis, customer service, and marketing. The owner will provide examples of schedules, operational reports, training materials, social media content, and promotional campaigns.
The owner will explain the purpose and expected results of each assignment before work begins and provide ongoing feedback during each work period. A scheduled one-on-one mentoring meeting will be held weekly to review progress, discuss challenges, answer questions, and establish new learning goals. The intern will also receive a midterm evaluation and a final performance evaluation.
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to:
1. Apply management principles to employee scheduling, training, workflow coordination, and restaurant operations.
2. Analyze sales, inventory, labor needs, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business improvement.
3. Develop professional marketing strategies and promotional campaigns to attract customers and increase sales.
4. Create appropriate social media content and evaluate campaign performance using sales and customer-engagement results.
5. Communicate effectively with employees, customers, and the owner and present professional recommendations for business growth.
