Opportunity Summary 

Oasis Magazine is seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Intern to support our digital and editorial efforts. This internship is designed as a hands-on learning experience for students interested in journalism, media communications, social media, and digital storytelling.

The intern will work under the guidance of the Media Director, with mentorship and collaboration from the Editor-in-Chief/Publisher and Chief Financial Officer. This is a hybrid role, allowing flexibility to work remotely with occasional in-office days and on-site coverage for events, photoshoots, and community outreach activations.

This position is unpaid and intended for students receiving academic credit.

Tasks:

Edit short-form video content for social media platforms using Adobe Creative Cloud.
Capture behind-the-scenes footage at photoshoots, events, and community outreach activations as needed.
Assist in planning, organizing, and maintaining a social media content calendar.
Export and deliver content in accordance with Oasis Magazine brand guidelines.
Organize and manage digital media assets.
Collaborate with ambassadors, models, photographers, videographers, editors, and department heads.
Participate in editorial discussions and apply feedback to revisions.
Track internship hours using Clockify and submit weekly reports in compliance with academic requirements.
Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding project challenges or limitations.

Training:

Mandatory onboarding and orientation led by the Media Director.
Ongoing one-on-one mentorship and regular check-ins.
Task contextualization to connect assignments to editorial and journalistic goals.
Hands-on training with Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Suite, and additional tools as needed.

Job shadowing opportunities during productions, events, and activations

Midterm evaluation meeting to review progress and adjust responsibilities if necessary
