Gender Studies InternAt — CSU Stanislaus Gender Studies program

Opportunity Summary 

Providing support to the programs and services offered via the Gender Studies academic program and its faculty. Upon negotiation with the internship supervisor, activities may include assisting in program promotion and outreach (flyers, forms, websites, social media, orientation events, etc), teaching assistantships in one or more courses, program assessment and research, research support to faculty members, and event planning and facilitation.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

1. Deeper understanding of the field of Gender Studies.
2. Increased expertise in one or more subfields of Women's, Gender, Men's, Trans, and/or Queer Studies.
3. Skill developed tied to the specific project activities - oral and written communication, teaching, researching, marketing, public speaking, event planning, etc.

Opportunity Training 

The supervisor will be primarily responsible for training, however some of this may be supported by university-based training/orientation programs as appropriate to the work.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

It is not anticipated that there are any safety concerns different than those faced by any student attending Stan State.
